Imagine if we treated
ourselves with the same care and love
that we share with others…

Easier said than done, right?

Well, you’ve come to the right place.

This is your prescription for self-care

In other words, this is your permission to indulge in some much-deserved you time.

This blog is a place for overextended, time-poor people to find inspiration, to recharge, and to take time for self-love without shame or the feeling that other important parts of life will suffer.

Just like a provider writes prescriptions for medical treatment, your prescription for self-care is authorization to treat yourself with kindness, and gently reminds that your well-being is worth protecting.

Your first prescription, with unlimited refills, reads: self-care, apply generously as needed, and please do, friend, you deserve it.

I’m a pharmacist and writer on a journey of self-healing.

I am a full-time mom, spouse, and healthcare professional with a tendency to get stressed, overwhelmed, and burnt out.

My vision is to empower overextended people to practice self-care and unlock their potential for peace (myself included).

Learning to trust in the absence of evidence

For years, I have been entrenched in the predictability of science. There was a time when beauty, wonder, and imagination coexisted with the infinite possibility of knowledge. Research and discovery gelled perfectly in truth with an unspoken ease. I couldn’t explain...

Losing power, gaining power – How I left a mountain of dirty dishes behind and it felt amazing

I’ve shared before that I am a cryer. Good times, hard times, and in between, I’m prone to tearing up, or even straight-up bawling.  Picture this: It’s an average Tuesday night nearing the end of summer, just days before my son’s first birthday, and I am so.....

How to check-in with yourself for a self-care checkup

Searching for the silver bullet; how self-care is just like medication

As part of an English project in my senior year of high school, I gave an impassioned lecture on alternative therapies to replace medications, and, with very little know-how, essentially shunned traditional medicine. I didn’t know how I would do it, but I had big...
